Before & After
Detroit as seen from Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Seen the decline of Detroit over the decades. Since it was like 6AM it was hard to tell how downtown is doing. Did like the lights.
Now this is the Detroit I remember.
Up in Ferndale having The Forager at The Fly Trap A Finer Diner. Caramelized onions, spinach, mushrooms and gouda.
Drove around a bit. Carefully.
Once grand homes sitting to rot. Blocks and blocks.
Was last at The Henry Ford Musuem in Dearborn 2 decades ago.
Always wanted to get back to admire the wide and impressive collection.
President Reagan assassination attempt. Before Secret Service agent Jerry Parr threw the President into the back seat, a bullet had bounced off the armored body, flattened, and entered President Reagan under his arm as he was waving.
John Kennedy.
After his assassination, the roof was added and it was used for Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. Morbid.

As WWII was brewing, the owner of this new car hid it in his Dresden basement, bricked over the entrance and planted a garden above it. WWII ended, but the Cold War started putting Dresden behind the iron curtain. 60 years after being hid, it was finally removed and restored.
